Observation Time
Hello Millanooo
At 21st January 2019, I visited UST Junior High School for the first time. I was really excited because I would meet my cooperating teacher. Unfortunately, my cooperating teacher cannot attend for this first meeting. So, For the first observation, I joined My friend’s class in grade 9. My friend will teach chemistry for grade 9. The next day, finally I can meet my cooperating teacher. Her name is Mrs. Evelyn Tiangsing. So, I can start my observation class. I observed 4 class. They are St. Agatha, St. Augustine, St. Aurea, and St. Anne. I observed for about 3 days. I got many experiences and fact about Philippines learner, especially in UST JHS. The students were really active during the lesson. They work to ask everything that teacher asked to them. I was really proud of them. The students were really respected to other people although I just student teacher but they always respect to me.
My cooperating teacher gave them a quiz before the lesson ends. This quiz has purpose to check understanding of students. She also gave the assignment for the students. This assignment really helps students to more understand about the material and develop their critical thinking skills. Because my cooperating teacher always emphasizes about critical thinking skills and important life lesson from the topic. At the end of the class, she always asks the student to derive an important life lesson from the topic. The thing that I will always remember from my cooperating teacher is student can search for anything about the lesson from the internet but derive important life lesson from the topic cannot they get from the internet. You have to guide them to apply the essential from lesson to use in real life.
